FOR TODAY December 1, 2008
Outside My Window... dusk is falling. Christmas lights are beginning to glow up and down the block.
I am thinking... of a craft to do for Advent with the kiddies tomorrow.
I am thankful for... house projects accomplished over the weekend
From the kitchen… Roast beef roasting, coffee warming and the last of Thanksgiving leftovers finally eaten!
I am wearing... favorite jeans, a loose grey t-shirt which I think makes me look like I am expecting. My daughters all say I look slimmer in it??? What????
I am creating... lists of gifts to order form catalogs.
I am going... basketball practice tonight
I am reading... Brother Juniper’s Bread Book
I am hoping... to keep my momentum on the house projects.
I am hearing... the blower from the oven, Elton John on the PC
Around the house... I conquered a few of my trouble spots in the house over the weekend and I am hoping to continue my mission to get through a bunch more before Christmas. This week we are going to be donating our un-needed coats to a coat drive at Dan’s Uncle Bob’s church, so hopefully that will give me a jumpstart on two of the closets I am aiming at getting cleaned out .
One of my favorite things... laundry that is collected, washed, dried, folded and put away all on the same day!
A Few Plans for the Rest of the Week: basketball, ballet, science class, birthday parties for two of Hannah’s friends, sports banquet for our High school track star, Christmas Concert for our eighth grade songbird, get the lights on the house, shop ‘til I drop, volunteer with our local group who donates food to the Franciscan Friars of the Renewal, get working on those Christmas cards! (Whew!!!)
Here is picture thought I am sharing... we went in search of Christmas tree farms on Saturday and came home with two trees! This is the smaller of the two and it will be very simply decorated and will stand in my kitchen. If all goes as planned, I will post a picture in next week’s daybook. This tree is one of my favorite things about our home at Christmas!
