Life around here has slowed down just a tiny bit since the wedding. It is still busy, just without the same level of stress excitement. Here are some random pictures of some of the happenings since the "big day".
Two days after the wedding Dan sponsored his nephew for Confirmation, so it was off to Jersey for the day.
Not long after, my wonderful brother hosted a get-together at is home for all the family who were still around from the festivities of the wedding. It happened to be Hannah's birthday, so he provided a delicious meal and cake for dessert.
Ben and my fun-loving brother.
Don't get scared... but at the end of a graduation party in NJ for Dan's sister's son, their old pick-up suddenly caught fire. No one is sure why, but it was quite an ending to a beautiful day. No less than four fire trucks, plus state troopers and local police all showed up . Besides the truck, about a cord of firewood, several folding tables and chairs were lost. Thank God no one was hurt!
May and June are birthday months here: Hannah's 7th, Jessie's 20th, and my (ahem) 29th. Jessie's birthday dinner ALWAYS involves mashed potatoes.
Let's not leave out Ben, who at the end of his Junior year, received his school ring. A nice cermeony for the parents, followed by a dinner and dance for the students.
Our wild and crazy Friday Family Night Rosary. I love it in the summer when we can sit outside and the kids get a bit more room to run around in afterward.
I really liked this picture because of all the beads weighing her down. Five year old Holly Anne likes to hand out and collect the rosaries from everyone. Not until I posted this picture did I notice she forgot to check her gun at the door! Or perhaps the gun is her way of keeping all those kids in line during prayers!
Becky was ready for a hairstyle change and decided to have almost 10 inches cut off! I didn't think she could get any prettier!
A visit from Fr. Conrad, one of our favorite CFR's. We had fun taking group shots just before he had to leave.
Whenever I have to take a picture of a large group I tell everyone to do something silly for the first picture.
Then, they must be serious. Very serious. Family photos are serious business you know.
Finally, eveyrone is ready for a nice picture!
We do have downtime. My daughter, Kate, secretly took this picture of Hannah and me reading in the shade. We all loved how Luke was lounging around us, listening to Hannah read.
Hoping you are savoring your summer moments.
