Burning the Candle at Both Ends: Eve of St. Nicholas

With a Humble Heart We Ask the Lord...

***UPDATED 9/27/09***
-for a safe, healthy, and uneventful pregnancy for my neice, Reggie, who has finally conceived her first baby after four years!
-for Dan and me , that we may be instruments of the Holy Spirit for the couples we will be counseling during this pre-cana session.
-for the engaged couples who are going through our parish pre-cana program during these next six weeks. May it be time of growth and conversion for them
-for healing and comfort for the Barrett family as they continue to mourn the loss of dear Ryan
-for jobs for my neice and my nephew
for the continued strengthening of the voices of our Bishops... a positive effect of the Notre Dame scandal.
for success and security for Dan in his job
- For protection for the unborn
- for health of mind and body for a particular family member in my heart
-to guide the new leadership of our country with Your wisdom and love.
- for all those struggling due to the problems with our nation's economy
-for couples struggling with infertility... that God blesses them with the babies they long for... and for the Grace they need to accept His will , whatever it may be.
-for all those recovering from any type of addiction... the they may be healed by the love of God and family
-for the health and safety of our six children... that God keeps them in His loving care and guides them in all their decisions as they grow to maturity.
-for a strengthening of the marriage vocation, especially my own
-for safety for all of our Armed forces... especially AF Sgt. Matthew Tarkowski

Eve of St. Nicholas

Today Thomas was learning about rhyming patterns in poetry. He came up with this ditty, in addition to a few too silly for public consumption!

Tonight's the night we put out our shoes;

Will I get candy or coal?

When I wake up I'll be looking for clues;

Did St. Nicholas visit from the North Pole?

Happy St. Nicholas Day Eve! Here's hoping everyone gets candy!

With a Grateful Heart We Thank the Lord

-for the privilege of witnessing the body of Christ acting on Earth during the recent loss of our dear friend's son, Ryan Barrett
-for the recovery of my brother and his son fromtheir recent health issues and hospital stays
-for a great start this schoolyear... fo rthe homeschoolers, high schoolers, and college students
- for the wonderful news that my neice is expecting her first baby... after four years of trying. God's timing in all things!!!
- for all our homeschool activities and friends we have made through them
